Guide
How to play
Design Battle is a real-time creative duel: same brief, same kit, limited time — then everyone votes.
Match flow
- 01
Pick a mode and category on Play, then create a room or join with a 6-letter code.
- 02
In the lobby, read the brief, palette, assets, and constraints. Toggle ready; the host starts when enough players have joined.
- 03
After a 5-second countdown, the creation phase opens (15 minutes by default).
- 04
Use any design software you like. Download the kit assets from the lobby. Stick to the match palette and follow the constraints.
- 05
Export your work as JPG or PNG and upload it before the timer ends. You can replace your file until time runs out.
- 06
When the creation time limit ends, vote for other players (3 minutes). Designs are shown anonymously — award gold, silver, and bronze to three different entries, never your own.
- 07
Results rank designs by medal points. Ranked mode updates your ELO on the leaderboard.
The idea
Every player receives the same creative brief and a randomly generated design kit (palette, shapes, constraints). There is no single correct answer — originality and clarity under pressure win votes.
Lobby & roles
The host creates the room and can start the match. Multiplayer requires at least 3 players (solo mode: 1). Up to 8 players per room. Each player marks ready; the host launches when the minimum is reached.
Creation phase
Any design software is allowed (Photoshop, Figma, Illustrator, etc.). Download the kit assets from the lobby. Colors are limited to the match palette. Kit constraints are mandatory creative rules (format, elements to include, etc.). Export your project as JPG or PNG, then upload it on the platform before the timer ends. You can replace your file until time runs out.
Voting
Once the creation time limit ends, you must vote for other players' designs. Visuals are displayed anonymously — no usernames during voting. Assign one gold, one silver, and one bronze medal to three different designs. You cannot vote for your own submission. You may change your medals until the vote timer ends.
Scoring
Gold medal = 90 points Silver medal = 75 points Bronze medal = 60 points Total medal points determine the match ranking. The top 3 get gold, silver and bronze badges on the results screen. Ranked mode updates ELO after the match: signed-in players on the **registered** leaderboard, guests on the **guest** leaderboard.
Game modes
Quick — casual match, no ELO pressure. Ranked — ELO tracked on the leaderboard. Training — same solo flow, no voting or ranking (1 player).
